St Mary's church Lower Sunbury-on-Thames
This is one of Compton's last projects before the company ceased trading in the 1960s. It had involved moving the church's existing fine Lewis organ and fitting electric action to it, plus the addition of a few new ranks and a new 3-manual console.
Our involvement in this interesting and unusual instrument dates back to 2007 and since that time we have undertaken many improvements, such as the addition of a 32ft digital pedal stop, the addition of a 4ft flute (pipe) to the Great, refurbishment of various parts, full cleaning as well as general maintenance and tuning. Recently we re-leathered the swell engine, which had started to fail. The photos below illustrate some of our work.
